Kurzweil
1000 series Users' Programs (Patches)
Here you will find
links to downloads for programs (patches) created by or selected by
users of the Kurzweil
1000 series.
Where
available,
a description and/or a
link to a program list is provided. Complete lists or descriptions would
be very difficult - so a lot of browsing, dowloading and trying is
in order if you are to find the great sounds included.

Atari Obj Files/
These
files are compilations of various programs supplied by David Etheridge.
Most are in the
Atari
Object
Mover format
(.obj).
The
Atari Object Mover or Kurlewin can load these files and save them
to your Kurzweil. Here are descriptions and download links for what
David has provided.
Folder
1 (Kurz1.zip) contains a Best 1000 folder of my selection
of the best sounds for GX (2), PXA (2), HX and SX modules. At the time
I
had 2 PXAs, 2 SXs and an HX module (this was around 2000 or so after
all).
The AX folder contains 2 files of AXplus sounds.
Folder
2 (Kurz2.zip) comprises my complete collection
plus
Objectmover v.1.The Samplers.obj folder has all the files that were
on the original Atari disk -these are the SamplXX.obj files- plus
basic ROM soundblock downloads from the original modules (I don't
know why I left out the HX, but there you are). The 1200blok.obj is
a download of the K1200 ROM library from the time I had one for
review, and there are 8 PX blocks which are kurzweil originals.
The HX files are Kurz originals from their ftp site, as is the KXA file.
The New GX folder for some reason includes Objectmover v.2 which is
from Kurz's ftp site, as is the new GX folder; these are the Mac
files converted to Atari format.
Folder
3 (Kurz3.zip) contains yet another Objectmover (I think this
is v.2) plus more kurz Atari ftp downloads; PX blocks for base and
v.5 PX (I think the only difference is in the prog numbers), the same
for SX and HX. The PX blocks are listed in the type of instrument, so
should be self explanatory.
The above complete collection I uploaded to the Atari MIDI users site
in three files, simply because my computer at the time couldn't handle
it all in one bulk dump. It was the time, you see....
What I've tried to do is duplicate all the Mac ftp
sounds for Atari,
so basically they'll be the same.
Any other files, such as SX3.obj are just the collections I was using
at the time.
Also you'll find in the Yahoo group files section conversions of the
K-edit Pro 1 banks to Objectmover format, plus a couple of MIDIfile
dumps of sounds I've got from other sources such as a few from
Kurzweil U.K.
Folder
4 (Kurz4.zip) Here
are some more from David. The 'obj' files are Atari Objectmover format.
The 'mid' files are Midi file sound dumps. PXA1.obj
is a small collection of sounds from Kurzweil U.K. PXblock.obj
are some of the sounds that may have been lost from the
original when upgrading. SXblock.obj are
some of the sounds that may have been lost from the origianl SX when
upgrading.
The K1200_1-4.obj and the
12001-4.Mids are the same but in different formats and were originally
on the K-edit disk.
The PXAnew.mid (right
click to download) is a MIDIfile of PX/A sounds that I got from Jim
Crocini and (I think) has one of the sounds mentioned in the Keyboard
magazine programming article that's also scanned into the files
section of the User Group Yahoo site. (Note:
the scanned files are TIF format - you will need an image viewer (like
windows Paint) that will display them.) The other
object files are assorted dumps and
conversions from K-edit. Hope these are useful!
Tom Parsons Collection
These files are a compilation of many patches/programs
supplied to the group by Tom Parsons. Most are in the Atari Object
Mover format (.obj). The Atari Object Mover or Kurlewin can load these
files. No documentation exists at this
time. Until we get this better organized and a complete zip file prepared,
you can browse the downloads section by clicking on the following link.

download) downloads/Patches/DonParsonsCollection
Kurlewin Collection
These files are a compilation of some
of the original RAM patches/programs supplied with various modules for
the K1000 Series. These files were supplied with the original Kurle
program. Many of the files with the .kur extension will require Kurlewin
revision 2.0.1. Until we get this better organized and a complete zip file
prepared,
you can browse the downloads section by clicking on the following link.

The file Example.kur contains
the demo song 'Nighnight' for version 5 of the PX. It would probably require
the original programs and program lists to play correctly!
